Too bad I was planning to be here for a year... I bought a years worth of supplies for some stuff... Lets see... Anyone staying in Singapore for a year need this stuff?
- A bag of brown sugar (premium kind)
- A 2L can of instant oatmeal
- 3 jumbo sized boxes of Kleenex (you can't buy one box at a time here in Singapore)
- 1L of liquid Tide detergent (i paid a premium for good old Tide)
- 1 Magic-Clean (aka. Swiffer) duster with optional wet clothes (no matter how many times i mop... the floor is still dirty)
- Opened box of Corn Flakes and half a stick of medium cheese
- A million of those mini packs of tissue (you have to buy'em 100 at a time...)
- 1 green plant
- A bag of plastic knives
- The list goes on...............
So what do I have to look forward to when I get home? I was browsing through local Canadian news and came across a nice welcoming picture. This is from that huge storm that hit Halifax a few days ago...
Come visit Canada everyone!!
Anyways... so what's been happening with me lately. I can sum that up pretty easily. Just been working on my final assignments, studying and researching for Fantasy. I went to Kuala Lumpur this past weekend. The Petronas Towers are really worth seeing... Its metalic silver in color and has many bright spotlights lighting it up at night... its such a "mans" building. Anyways... I'm not going to bother talking about KL or Malaysia... Take a look at the photos below... I've been to Malaysia a few times... here's a couple highlights...
That's my foot... on a Business Class coach to Malaysia. I had to keep my foot up because there were cockroaches everywhere on the bus. The flying ones too! Haha... I manages to trick Yans with a piece of string while she was sleeping. She thought a roach crawled up her leg and she freaked... so hilarious...
Welcome to Malaysia... This is on the border crossing bridge... Malaysian girls are much prettier than Singaporeans...
Nice name.... Toyota Picnic.... Imagine using that to pick up the ladies.... umm i mean in a conversation...
View from our Hotel... Good old Kuala Lumpur... not quite like how that TV show Amazing Race depicts it eh....
Rocky... tastes just like Pocky! but not quite...
Mono-Rail system in KL... its so tiny!
Transit system map... or is it?.... Whatever it is...very confusing...
One of the coolest buildings I've ever seen...
The Petronas Towers in all its glory!
The exchange rate is madness in Malaysia... We ate like Kings but it really only cost us pennies... Here's the New Zealand rack of lamb I had.... yummy......
Three desserts in one!! What more can you ask for? Lets see.... To the right you will see the Tiramisu, next to it is the Chocolate mudpie cake.......
Alright... enough about the trip. btw... Someone in Toronto... Can you please pick me up a copy of the November 20th issue of the Toronto Star? I want that "Get Milk" calender. Some useful info in there... Thanks!
Okay... so lets talk about some stuff I pulled from this months Men's Health...
- For those who like to whiten their teeth with those over the counter things... Think again. Some preliminary studies done by Georgetown University shows that teeth whitening kits contribute to oral cancer...
- Some friends have been asking me what I want for Christmas... my birthday... etc... Not all of you can buy me a blender so check this out:
It's made from "open-cell viscoelastic memory foam"... Order it from here ... It costs about $16,000... That's like four of Jason's car....
- Why eat red meat (beef)? The article I read talks a lot about its nutritional benefits including all the vitamins, minerals, monounsaturated fat (good fat), amino acids, protein, etc... etc... It also mentions prehistoric proof as well... Here it is:
1) ok so may be a little out of context... but they mention it says in the book of Genesis that man should have dominion over the anumals of the earth. To quote "...Man's right to bear barbecue tongs is a God-given one."
2) Here's a quote from the article (not my words...) "Prehistoric women craved iron-rich red meat due to the massive iron losses that result from menstruation. So a dripping haunch of wild bovine gave women exactly what their bodies craved... and women gave back to the men who provided it. Early man probably didn't need too big a frontal lobe to understand the benefits of a sex-for-food trade...." The article goes on to talk about the nutritional benefits...
So to end off this entry... I'll leave you with this bible verse... I heard it off of the Hour of Power yet again... I think this is the verse that makes Christianity so appealing... so different from all other religions. It's a gift!!! Nothing forcing u to take it... nothing u have to do to get it... its just there... so awesome...
Ephesians 28
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--
Until next week!.............. btw... don't forget to pick me up that Get Milk! calender....
