Hello Canada!

Finally!!! If you know me then you'll know what I'm talking about. Anyhow, this blog isn't very good so don't get your hopes up.

So Singapore's been pretty good so far... I guess to kick things off let me show you a couple pictures from day 1. So here's a picture from Toronto Pearson airport as I was about to leave. It was about 6:00am or something so thanks to Jay, Josh, Ken, Tu My and of course my brother for seeing me off. Crazy $10 parking and all, and they helped me eat some cherries I packed since I was told they don't allow you to bring fruits and veggies into other countries. Of course they do... I packed 3 boxes of cherries and ate them on the plane and in Japan during my stop over. phew... Why cherries do you ask?... well here's a quote from some cherry nutrition site:

"Cherries contain significant quantities of melatonin, which help regulate the sleep cycle. Further, the anthocyanins found in cherries contain some of the highest levels of COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitors of any known food. The anthocyanins found in cherries function in the same manner as ibuprofen, and thus, may help in relaxation." so i figured if i eat a lot of em i'll be able to sleep better on the plane... not too sure if it worked. Oh... and not a lot of cherries here in Singapore... so if you are a cherry lover.. then umm.. Singapore is not the place for you.

*drool.... delicious cherries Posted by Hello

So I flew Harmony Airlines to Vancouver for a 4 hour stop over. No complaints here and I would fly them again for sure... Their flights are dirt cheap too! I met up with my friend Evelyn in BC and she had a CRAZY haircut... talk about crazy! Man... I must say that Vancouver international airport is horrible! If you have a connecting flight there, make sure u give yourself 4 hours. I was about 10 minutes late for my flight and had to be carted to my gate! Luckily I wasn't the only one as there were loads of people late aswell... close call... So I then flew to Japan via Japan Airlines... wow... they have some hot stewardesses... In Japan I had a 4 hour layover so I paid about $5 for a shower, ate some $20 ramen, the rest of the cherries i packed and walked around. The shower was well worth the $5... They have beds, massages you can pay for aswell... if you ever have a long layover in Japan keep this link handy. So I finally arrived in Singapore and there was a guy standing outside waiting for me with a big sign that read... "VIP - Allan Ma". I had arranged with the University to have someone pick me up. There, I met two other exchanges from Hong Kong, Yans and Sun. haha Yans actually wants to be a cook and her parents named her after Martin Yan - Yan Can Cook... hopefully she can someday.... Anyhow... we hopped into the stretch limo that was waiting for us and off to National University of Singapore (NUS).
